“South center for ship building and ship repairing” (SCSS – is a part of “The United Ship building Corporation”, USC) has received an order for construction of series of dry-cargo ships. This event is reported by RIA Volga with reference to the Head of International and Foreign Economic Relations Agency of Astrakhan Region Vladimir Golovkov.
“As a result of the meetings held by the governor of Astrakhan region an agreement about placing an order for construction of the series of dry-cargo ships at our facilities for Turkmenistan was reached, namely, two dry-cargo ships. The construction will be carried out by our “South center for ship building and ship repairing”, – said Vladimir Golovkov at the meeting of the regional government.
He noticed that ship building is one of the main directions of mutual cooperation between Astrakhan Region and Turkmenistan. According to his words this cooperation brought orders for $750 million for Astrakhan enterprises in due course of time.
“We keep on holding negotiations with respect to the order for construction of special purpose ships as well as car-ferries”, – underlined the head of agency.
Before, astrakhan shipbuilders have built for Turkmenistan a series of ships intended for various purpose, including: oil tankers for the Caspian oil transportation.
