Ukraine holds the interest towards mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenbashi International Seaport offered options

On February the 23, 2021 between the representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, with the support of the Turkmen Embassy in Kiev, organized a video conference on the activation of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation noted that the export of Ukrainian goods to Turkmenistan and other countries of the region, as well as the import of Turkmen goods to Ukraine, is the main objective of creating a logistics center on the territory of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport.
Within the framework of negotiations, representatives of the agency “Türkmendeńizderýaýollary” held a video presentation, where the Turkmen side expressed its readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation with Ukraine and briefed about the opportunities and plans for the development of the Balkan shipyard.
Also, the Ukrainian side was notified about the compliance of Turkmenbashi International Seaport with the requirements of the multimodal transport system and carried out works on the digitalization of the port.
“Turkmen Logistics” Association gaining experience in transport infrastructure as well as developing continuous work with international organizations have participated in this event.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged questions and answers. The Director of the Planning and Surveying Institute and Research Institute of Maritime Transport «ЧерноморНИИпроект» Sergey Nikulin has expressed his interest in participating in such specific projects in Turkmenistan.
