14.04.2021

Representatives of the “Turkmen Logistics” Association took part in an online training seminar, which was held on April the 14th, 2021, by using the platform (KUDO). This is the second of three planned seminars organized by the Secretariat of the Economic Cooperation Organization together with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). The topic of discussion was “Promoting the implementation of Annex 11 to the TIR Convention (Customs Convention on the International Transport of Goods) under the e-TIR system in the ECO region and beyond – The relationship of national Customs systems with the international eTIR system”.
The seminar was held in the format of two sessions. The first was dedicated to the conceptual, functional and technical characteristics of the e-TIR system. Presentations were delivered by managers, advisers and experts on TIR (International Road Transportation) and transit transportation, ITU (International Transport Union). During the second meeting, the ECO member countries presented their experience in interacting with the international e-TIR system and pilot projects. Conclusions and recommendations were prepared on the results of the meeting during “the round table” discussion.
Expansion of foreign economic relations by Turkmenistan contributes to the increase in cargo transportation and the development of the logistics system. Participation in such seminars is considered by the “Turkmen Logistics” Association as an important condition for improving the efficiency of transport and logistics activities of Turkmen companies throughout the Eurasian continent.
