Meeting of Report on the assessment of readiness for cross-border paperless trade in Turkmenistan

On September 19, a meeting was held at the UN House to discuss readiness for  cross-border paperless trade in Turkmenistan. The meeting, organized by the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan jointly with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, was held in a hybrid format.
Representatives of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of other ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of the National Association “Turkmen Logistics”, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, OJSC “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan” were invited to the event to participate.
At the meeting, presentations were made on the work done to introduce paperless trade in various areas of the economy, such as investment and innovation, transport, macroeconomic policy, the environment, new social issues, information and communication technologies. They also discussed issues of promoting sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development in the Asia-Pacific region – on the basis of regional cooperation.
The participants of the event presented interesting feedback and proposals for further development of cooperation in this area.
