On January 14, 2021, events were held on the occasion of the commissioning of 30-kilometer railway between the stations of Akin-Andkhoy (Islamic Republic of Afghanistan) and 153-kilometer power line with a capacity of 500 kilowatts on the Kerki (Turkmenistan) – Shebergan (Afghanistan) highway, as well as the international fiber-optic systems Imamnazar-Akina and Serkhetabat-Turgundi between our countries.
President of Turkmenistan and President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan were connected via teleconference. The new year’s motto “Turkmenistan is the homeland of peace and trust” was a great start in the friendly and trusting relations between our countries. Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan annually carries out mutually beneficial joint projects, based on the fraternal peoples to traditionally peaceful, productive relations. By the opening of new areas of cooperation in transport and transit potential, the partnership relations of neighboring countries have further strengthened and expanded their ties.
