The transport and communications sector is an integral factor in the sustainable development of every country for achieving all sustainable development goals adopted by all UN member states as the Global Agenda for the period up to 2030. All this makes the development of transport and transit communications extremely important. The geo-economical potential of the new transport and transit hubs of Turkmenistan is enormous it involves vast areas, human resources, strong investments are made. All this creates opportunities for the transformation of the transport segment of Turkmenistan into one of the locomotives of the development of the world economy. For the purpose of harmonized global international activities in the field of transport, the importance is being increasingly attached to the transport diplomacy.
At the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan an optional lesson on the topic “Agreements on transitive and transport cooperation along the Lapis-Lazuli route” was held. This lesson was presented by lecturer Sahra Amanova – Deputy Chairman of the “Turkmen Logistics” Association. Speaking to students, future graduates, Amanova Sahra sufficiently detailed developed the topic, informatively highlighting it in the presentation. The transport strategy of Turkmenistan is based on the maximum use of geographic advantages, logistics opportunities and infrastructure, to create large transport hubs of regional and continental importance on the territory of our country, aimed at serving the cause of developing close international economic integration and cooperation. The Lapis Lazuli Corridor serves as an example of the practical implementation of the provisions of the UN General Assembly resolutions on the role of transport corridors in ensuring international cooperation for the purpose of sustainable development.
The workshop served as an open platform where the students had an opportunity to ask questions on issues exercising them. This event turned to be supportive to educational institutions in providing information on the transport and logistics sector of Turkmenistan, its significance, role, and development trends.
