The conference in online mode under the slogan “The role of positive neutrality of Turkmenistan regarding support for sustainable development of the transport and logistics sector in the Caspian region” was held on the 19th of November, 2020 with the assistance of the Consular agency of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan city) and the International Relations Agency of Astrakhan region. Government officials, business leaders, experts and teaching staff of higher educational institutions, as well as the representatives of “Turkmen Logistics” Association, the Association of shipowners and freight forwarders of the Astrakhan region have participated in this event.
The Consul of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan city) Garayev Guich Archaevich and Interim Head of the International relations agency of the Astrakhan Region Toropitsyn Ilya Vasilyevich have delivered welcoming speech. A video-movie on the occasion of 25th anniversary of the neutrality of Turkmenistan was shown to the participants.
The first session of the round table conference was held on the topic “Trends and ways of development of the transport and logistics complex of Russia and Turkmenistan, and ways of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics in the Caspian region”. The heads of the seaports of two countries of special economic zone “Lotus”, transport and logistics centers as well as representatives of business structures have made an interesting reports and presentations. Sahra Amanova, the Deputy Chairman of the “Turkmen Logistics” Association has made a speech about the activities of the Association on the territory of Turkmenistan. Special attention has been given to promoting competitive growth of international forwarding, developing transport, logistics and forwarding activities, transport infrastructure between Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region. The head of the public organization “Regional association of ship-owners and forwarders of Astrakhan Region” Zagrebelnyi Igor, on the other hand, has shared his experience in the field of marine transport operations and the activities of the Association in general. Also, during the first session, the parties have discussed key factors for promoting cooperation in the future and have signed “The Memorandum of understanding between the Regional association of ship-owners and forwarders of Astrakhan Region (Astrakhan city, Russian Federation) and the “Turkmen Logistics” Association (Ashgabat city, Turkmenistan).
