Supported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the People’s Republic of China, an online meeting between the representatives of the OJSC “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan”, the “Turkmen Logistics” Association and the International Advisory Center on Servicing Container Trains under the China Communications and Transport Association with a focus on implementing objectives and goals set out in the Program for the Development of the International Business Activities of Turkmenistan for 2020-2025 years, as well as on improving and increasing the rate of transit potential of Turkmenistan, has been successfully held on January the 18th, 2022.
During the online talks, the parties discussed main aspects of cooperation in the field of rail freight from China to Turkmenistan. Particular attention was drawn up to the study of new alternative railway routes.
Successfully using the advantages of its geographical position and developing the potential in this area, Turkmenistan is becoming an important transport and logistics center of interregional and intercontinental significance. Convenient, cost-effective and safe international routes are created in the country involving all modes of transport. This ensures the sustainable development of the country, helps to increase trade relations and strengthen international cooperation.
Summarizing the meeting, the parties remained interested in holding further negotiations in this direction.
