The VIII Turkmen-Russian Economic Forum “New challenges and opportunities for expanding cooperation” was held on Wednesday, October 20, on the ZOOM platform.
Specific issues in the field of industrial cooperation, expanding the export and investment potential of enterprises and companies between the two countries, cooperation in the sphere of construction production, processing industries of the agro-industrial complex as well as digital technologies and logistics have been included in the agenda of joint event between the chambers of commerce and industry of Russia and Turkmenistan.
Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Dovletgeldy Rejepov and Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Vladimir Padalko acted as moderators of the forum. Specialists of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, the Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange Stock as well as the Ministry of Construction and Architecture and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs were among the speakers of the Turkmen side. Management representatives of Russian Export Center, JSC «РЖД Логистика», the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation as well as experts from Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Astrakhan region and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of St. Petersburg, and others, have offered their proposals for the development of mutual cooperation and business interaction.
The analytical review of investment projects and the perspectives for economic cooperation between the two countries in new conditions have been made in the course of the meeting. The issues on logistics capabilities of Turkmenistan with a view to supply Iranian goods to Russia, the digitization in regulating export-import operations as well as the export of Turkmen textile products to the Russian Federation have been also considered at the forum.
A large number of issues including topics in the field of producing building materials and house construction have been under discussion between the business communities on partnerships. At the end of the forum, bilateral documents on cooperation have been signed.
