International Trade Center organized regional meeting on Trade Facilitation in Central Asia

The meeting dedicated to the theme “From Internal Roadmaps to Regionally Coordinated Trade Facilitation Reforms” was held from 11 to 13 May 2022 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. It was attended by representatives of five countries of Central Asia, as well as international experts, representatives of the European Union Delegations. From the Turkmen side, representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, the State Customs Service, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the National Association “Turkmen Logistics” participated via online videoconference.
During the discussion the organizers put an aim to reach consensus on facilitation reforms requiring bilateral and regional coordination and to prioritize their implementation, to identify common problems and potential solutions to procedural bottlenecks affecting trade flows from Central Asia to the European Union, to discuss emerging tendencies and synergies in trade facilitation in order to strengthen regional cooperation.
The program of the event included high-level meetings, thematic discussions and interactive sessions aimed at stimulating dialogue and sharing experiences.
